SPEAKER: Gerald Benischke
“Getting Servers to Build Themselves on AWS”

Wednesday 4th July
Democracy Society: GM Democracy Hub | Defiant Event Space
5pm - 7.30pm
Across Greater Manchester, there are so many organisations doing fantastic work to build communities, bring people together and strengthen democracy. With so much going on, it can be hard to keep up-to-date with everyone else and find time to collaborate.
That is why we want to bring everyone together for an evening to network, share ideas and explore ways to work together to create projects that further democracy. The format will be casual, with opportunities to network interspersed with short 3-minute pitches where people can pose questions, discuss projects and promote their organisations.
The event will take place during UK Democracy Week in July, and is open to any organisations, departments and individuals interested in democracy, engagement and participation.
This event has been organised by The Politics Project and The Democratic Society and is being supported by the Co-op College, WEA, People's History Museum, Co-operative Academies Trust and Youth Focus North West.

Docker Manchester Meetup #7: Logging Docker with the ELK Stack / Moving from Monolith to Containers Sensibly | Solidarity Event Space
6.30pm - 9.00pm
Docker is the company driving the container movement and the only container platform provider to address every application across the hybrid cloud. Today’s businesses are under pressure to digitally transform but are constrained by existing applications and infrastructure while rationalizing an increasingly diverse portfolio of clouds, datacenters and application architectures. Docker enables true independence between applications and infrastructure and developers and IT ops to unlock their potential and creates a model for better collaboration and innovation. Docker wishes to thank Disney Streaming Services for sponsoring the venue on this occasion.
Daniel Berman from Logz.io
Phil Clare from Interact Software
As usual, we'll have pizza and drinks which have been kindly sponsored by Evolution Recruitment Solutions (www.evolutionjobs.com/uk).

Deep Dive - The Gender Pay Gap | Solidarity Event Space
In working collectively towards making social change - whether in a business, charity or as part of a campaign - we often focus on the symptoms of an issue, but what if we addressed the root causes instead?
As part of our social impact series, Lauren Coulman from Noisy Cricket will be exploring themes that are fundamental to change-making in modern society, and providing a platform for the forward-thinking doers amongst us, recognising and acting on issues of inequality and bringing new models, attitudes and examples of how inclusive and beneficial working for the greater good can be.
In the third event series with support from The Federation, we'll be taking a Deep Dive, focusing on the Gender Pay Gap, and hearing from three incredible organisations on their work bringing together and harnessing people to subvert the issues they're addressing and create new ways of living and working as a society.
